Zac Harmon is geboren en getogen in Jackson Mississippi al waar hij opgroeide met de blues. Zijn vader speelde harmonica, zijn moeder piano.
Op zijn 16e begon Zac met zijn professionele carrière, toen hij gitaar speelde in de band van Sam Myers, een vriend van zijn vader. Twee jaar later, vooral tijdens regionale tours, speelde hij o.a. met Dorothy Moore en ZZ Hill.
Hij was 21 jaar, toen hij naar Los Angeles verhuisde en daar aan de slag ging als studiomuzikant en er ook een zeer succesvolle songwriter en producer werd.
In 2004 tijdens de International Blues Challenge won hij de “Beste Unsigned Band Award”. Zac Harmon vermaakte de Amerikaanse troepen tijdens de golfoorlog in Irak en Koeweit. Naar aanleiding daarvan bracht hij in 2008 de cd “Shot in de Kill Zone” uit, die live werd opgenomen in de Lionel Hampton Jazz Club in Parijs.
In 2009 kreeg Zac in zijn geliefde woonplaats Jackson een Music Award en enige tijd later, in Nashville, de “Little Milton” Guitar Award voor “Outstanding Guitar Player”
In datzelfde jaar speelt hij een belangrijke rol in de onafhankelijke film “Black and Blue”. Zijn laatste Cd “Right Man Right Now”, met o.a Bobby Rush, Lucky Peterson, Anson Funderburgh en Mike Finnegan, is zijn bluesiest cd ooit.
Zac Harmon is één van de beste live-performers in de blues, met fans alom over de wereld. Zijn live-optredens worden beïnvloed, door soul-blues, reggae, en moderne blues-rock.

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Zac Harmon is a true embodiment of the music that emanated from the city’s historic Farish Street district, home of blues legend Elmore James. Given that Zac was exposed to a lot of music in his home, neighborhood, and local culture, it’s not surprising that he turned out a blues musician. His mom played piano, and his dad, the city’s first black pharmacist, played harmonica and tended to the needs of artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Ike and Tina Turner, Albert King, and Little Milton.
